Unit 539
The Spring Non Life Master Sectional will be held May 18-20 2012. See the Flyer.
Welcome to the new website of Unit 539. There is a new name, sandiegobridge.com. The old name will still work. The site is in the developmental stage. Navigation around a site can be a pain when there are many menu items. Briefly, the front page will have the main menu at the top and a side menu. The HOME button at the left of the top bar will bring you back to this page. The top menu and the side menu contain mostly information of local interest. The top two items on the side menu take you to two other areas. The Unit info etc. button takes you to the part of the website dealing with board business such as minutes and finances. The top button on the left, Gateway to great stuff, takes you to a section that connects to bridge around the world. On that page you will find a menu item, Great Bridge Sites, which has links to a few favorite sites. There is a page of bridge RSS feeds that connects to many interesting articles. A more complete page with links to many bridge sites can also be found there.
One source with links to many sites is BridgeBlogging.com. The site, BridgeWinners.com is also highly recommended.
We are experimenting with polls to better understand what our members would like. The poll at the right is under construction.
To the right we have an RSS bridge feed. There are lots of interesting stories there from many different sites. The site is undergoing renovation and your comments are welcomed.

Currently the Unit 539 sectional format is Swiss teams starting at 10 a.m. Some bridge players have family or other obligations that prevent them from playing in the morning. In order to accommodate those players and players that only want to play one session, the Unit is considering offering a one session pair game starting at 1 p.m. Since attendance on Sundays is always less than other days, and a level of attendance is required to cover the costs, this would only be possible if the total table count on Sundays did not decrease. There is a poll in the right hand column for your input. It will be available for several months. Please only vote once.
