Diane Elaine Cappelluti passed peacefully on the evening of November 2, 2011. She was surrounded by her loved ones and family who have been caring for her over the recent years. Her parents Donald and Dorothy Doman brought her to Fresno from Philadelphia in 1945. She graduated from Fresno High School in 1958 and graduated from Fresno State University in 1963. She married her husband Paul Cappelluti in 1965 and remained by his side until his death in 1995. Diane was a member of the Fresno, Madera and Pacific Grove communities. She was known by her friends and family for her enthusiasm for life, exceptional skills at bridge playing as well as an avid interest in travel and reading. She was an inspiration to her students with whom she shared her passion for education and personal achievement. Her children Kurt and Lisa were especially touched by her support and will be forever grateful for her life lessons and unconditional love. She leaves behind her daughter, Lisa Cappelluti; son, Kurt Cappelluti; daughter-In-law, Lourdes Cappelluti who are the parents of her beloved grandchildren, Nick Cappelluti, Sarah Cappelluti and William Cappelluti. She is survived by her sister, Linda Cruz and her two children Michael and Rick Thornton. Diane is also survived by her longtime partner, James Robinson with whom she shared her life over the past ten years. Visitation will be held at Jay Chapel in Madera, on Sunday, November 6, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Jay Chapel, on Monday, November 7, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. Private family inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
